Southern Cross Assurance is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Arua Toua as Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Toua (or A.T as he is affectionately known) is a seasoned Underwriter and risk manager with career spanning over 40 years in the PNG insurance industry and abroad. Prior to joining SCAL, he held senior roles with Transpacific Assurance and Tower Insurance (PNG) where he was responsible for overall performance of the overall underwriting functions which included, but not limited to, risk assessment and setting ratings, Reinsurance (local and abroad), marketing & business development, staff training and development initiatives, regulatory compliance and reviewing policy wordings to ensure compliance with regional and global industry standards.

As Chief Technical Officer of SCAL, Mr Toua will provide experienced technical guidance to establish internal systems and controls to drive discipline in SCAL’s underwriting, risk management and claims processes to ensure transparency and integrity and high standards of customer service.
