Risk Management is about loss prevention. Risk Surveys (property inspections) and the analysis of risk documentation form the basis for the insurance cover to be adequately underwritten and if needed, be ceded for reinsurance as an additional layer of protection for your assets.
SCAL is proactive in its risk management approach. Our risk management framework comprises of a strong mix of local industry veterans with vast practical experience in technical risk management, an in-house Risk Survey field team consisting of licensed electrical tradesmen and a trained firefighter, that conduct on-site inspections for personal and commercial properties. SCAL is currently the only general insurer in PNG that provides this service free of charge.
For more complex commercial risks, SCAL has access to specialist risk management experts, through our established netwok in the reinsurance market, who can efficiently provide technical support to our local team to thoroughly assess and manage these types of risks.
